"Voilà ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. "
This game is the only game I actually own for 360. It is clearly the best RPG I've ever played. I bought it the day it came out and there is still quests I haven't completed. I think that there is 6 add-ons to it from X-box Live, and it's still going. Anyone who likes RPGs has to own this game. It'll be very difficult for anyone else to create an RPG that will compare.
Oblivion could have been a hell of a lot better if it wasn't for the xbox 360. Thanks to that, the depth of the game was cut and mod-making is limited. Sure the graphics look great but that isn't everything. The reason that morrowind did so well is because of the modding community but bethesda is shooting itself in the foot by limiting the modding community. Xbox 360 fanboys can bite me for all I care, it's the truth. Hell, some of the most talented modders in the community are STILL modding on MORROWIND and refuse to move on to Oblivion because of all it's crap. The depth of the rpg is minimum at best, and all in all is mediocre compared to what it could have been. All that being said, I enjoyed playing it for a while but eventually went back to Morrowind.
"If you leave you life in someone else's hands, you only have yourself to blame if you get crushed. "
Yeah, it's on the PC also. This guy wants to blame X-Box 360 for something that's Bathesda's problem. If they really wanted to they could have expanded the PC version for modders. Morrowind was also for X-Box and it didn't effect the PC version at all. They could have done it that way and released the 360 version later.
Yeah that's what I was saying, they have it for pc (my version is on the pc) but it clearly is lacking because they also had to think about the xbox 360 and the best modders out there are pretty ticked because they won't release all the tools (among other things) that are needed to truly mod oblivion like they did in morrowind.

Ok I get what you are saying by modding the game but who on earth has the time to dedicate 80 plus hours to a game? Unless you are like 13 and don’t have a social life yet. Oblivion is a great Game and chances are I will never complete the game for the fact that is so big and there is so much to do. Or I can quit my job, dump my girlfriend, diss all my friends and move in with MOM so I can play Oblivion all day and night like that I can complete the game and after that i can Start the game all over again but this time moded.... Yeah I love the Game but im not nuts about it. All in all it’s still one of the best games out there.
If that was supposed to be an insult geared in my general direction, I am not impressed. Moving right along, the point I was trying to make is that the makers of oblivion had promised the modding community that it would be "even more modder friendly than morrowind" and to be blunt it is nothing of the sort. It is if anything less modder friendly. I am simply stating that if Bethesda doesn't improve the modding capabilities and deliver what they promised, I highly doubt there will be another elder scrolls (unless of course the 360 fanboys keep buying copies while telling there friends how good the graphics are and completely missing the fact that compared to morrowind it has no depth). The reason that Bethesda has done well so far is because of the modders out there making kickass mods for morrowind and keeping the game alive far longer than it could have been without them. As for the game, it doesn't take that long to beat, assuming your not an obsessive compulsive person who has to do everything in the game to feel satisfied. I could and have beat in a week or so playing only reasonably ( a few hours on and off everyday/other day). Also for reference, I am 20 years old and until recently had been going to college and am working two part-time jobs (to help pay off some of that college debt) and believe it or not have a social life as well. As for your opinion of the game, I don't totally disagree. It is alright and has its moments, it just could have been so much more and that combined with the fact that Bethesda lied (deceived, misinformed, whatever) to the modders and community prevents me from going so far as to call the game "Great, Astounding, Best RPG Ever (Which it is most certainly not)."
"If you leave you life in someone else's hands, you only have yourself to blame if you get crushed. "
Insult not intended but if the shoe fits... all I am saying is gamers like me that enjoy playing don’t get a lot of quality time to play, a few hours a week if that, and the Reason for my posting is to inform people of my experience with this game just like I like to read other peoples posting on games and get feed back on whether the game is worth spending my hard earned cash check my previous Posts ( X Box 360 I made the Jump) and (Game Stores are a Joke).
Now as far as Xbox 360 Fan boy nope I don’t consider my self a Fan boy if a game is good or I just simply like it then to me it does not mater if its for Console, PC, Board or even Pinball. bottom line is a good game is a good game regardless of what medium is being represented on.
Last but not least we live in the 21st century and from now on most games if not all will be all about the graphics that is why Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are moving to the Next Gen and Video Card Makers like NVIDIA and ATI make such Powerful and expensive Graphic Cards if that was not the case we would still be playing 8 or 16 bit systems like Sega, Nintendo and Atari.
