Having seen Michael Mann's "Heat" with De Niro and Pacino, which included one of the 'most realisitic' street battles in cinema, I had to check out Miami Vice despite the reviews.
Well, it was really slow, a lot of talk about who's going to pick up what supply where and at what dock, with a lot of build up to one, yes one major action scene that lasted five minutes at the end, at night, which I could barely follow thanks to poor lighting and fast cuts of people shooting, with no sense of location. Underwhelming. Really needed more action throughout to make it better, since the characters didn't really have much life in them... Everything was low key and almost sleep inducing. The cityscape of Miami should've been shot more, as the film mainly included boating docks and a few interiors. The acting was good but dull. Wouldn't recommend.
Oh yeah, some guy in the theater walked out early, after squirming in boredom most of the film. It didn't bother me half as much, since I kept waiting for a great action scene to show up...
