Dell Dimension 4550 F key to enter BIOS Thu Nov 4, 2010 9:13:04 AM#139142Perm Link
I have a friend I am trying to help. He is new to computing and got a good deal on an old Dell 4550 Dimension desktop. I have never played with a Dell and am hoping someone could tell me what 'F' key to use to enter the BIOS so I can check the OEM settings.
I already tried Dell Chat but that is not helping at all. I am working on maxing out his RAM but the Dell site shows his system at a max of 1GB of PC3200 but the Dimm in the computer is actually PC2700. I used the Crucial website and it says a max of 2 GB of PC2700.
I could also use a point in the right direction to research the mobo by it's serial number if that is possible.

F2 is correct now I am trying the impossible of tracking down the mobo via S?N; if anyone knows of a way to do this on a Dell proprietary mobo please let me know.
