30 New Jersey High Schools To Compete In Finals Of 2010 Panasonic Creative Design Challenge
NJPAC Hosts Finals of Premier H.S. Robotics Competition
SECAUCUS, N.J., April 13 -- WHAT: Student teams representing 30 New Jersey high schools will compete for more than $40,000 in individual scholarships and prizes in the finals of the Panasonic Creative Design Challenge (CDC), a premier science and engineering technology competition for public and private New Jersey high school students.
In this year's challenge, each team has designed and built a remote controlled robotic recycling plant to help sort through debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch http://www.greatgarbagepatch.org/. In the finals, student teams will demonstrate their robotic recycling device and will be judged on the quality of their written report, oral presentation, engineering logbook entries, as well as the performance of their apparatus. Winning teams are awarded special category prizes, as well as scholarships to be used exclusively for college expenses.
