Interventional Spine(R) and Syndicom Partner to Provide Physicians Access to an Innovative 'Knowledge Share Network'

Syndicom Web 2.0 solution offers surgeon education through case studies.

DURANGO, Colo., April 7 -- Syndicom, the creator of the Web 2.0 healthcare collaboration platforms, SpineConnect.com and ArthoplastyConnect.com, announced a strategic partnership with Interventional Spine®, Inc., a medical device company exclusively focused on the design, development and marketing of patented percutaneous systems to treat lower back pain. Together the companies have launched the Knowledge Share Network, an on-line collaboration site for spine surgeons featuring medical case studies as an educational resource on percutaneous methods of spine treatment. The alliance aims to enhance surgeon education through the use of case studies and, as a result, help shorten procedure times, achieve lower complication rates, and minimize patient trauma.

Syndicom provides Interventional Spine with a web-based solution that allows surgeons to collaborate on its PERPOS® PLS System, the BONE-LOK® Implant, and the PERPOS®-Fuse, in a secure environment that promotes knowledge share. "Spine surgeons require extensive training and case evidence to master new procedures," said Scott Capdevielle, Syndicom CEO. "We are pleased to partner with Interventional Spine to provide a convenient on-line community for surgeons to learn the latest innovations in spine care."

Interventional Spine's Knowledge Share Network is a web-based community for surgeons that currently includes 15 medical cases on percutaneous spine treatments detailed with case descriptions with x-ray and MRI images. Access to the on-line community and case library is free of charge.

"Educating surgeons on our latest percutaneous innovations in spine care is top priority for us," notes Walter A. Cuevas, CEO of Interventional Spine. "Syndicom's collaboration platform enabled us to build a medical case library that quickly and conveniently delivers case knowledge to surgeons around the world."
