The PDP Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller retails for $50 (Amazon) at the time of writing. It is slightly cheaper than the Xbox One controller from Microsoft (the wireless version) and offers some unique features. While we think the customization of the lighting is unique, the strong point of the Afterglow is the ability to remap the button rocker buttons to any other button on the controller.

The remapping feature alone makes this controller stand out in a sea of third party junk. The PDP Afterglow feels good in the hands and performs well. It also doesn't feel cheap. If you are using this on Linux, be sure to check this patch that we provided to get it working. It'll probably be included on a future Linux kernel merge to have it work out of that box. We prefer wireless controllers, but this is a very good wired controller with the extra features. PDP has done a good job putting some flare into an otherwise standard wired controller.

ASE Publishing would like to thank PDP for sending this product for review.
